Opening Times

The surgery is open Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm.

Routine appointments are at 10-minute intervals, and can be booked up to eight weeks in advance. If you feel you need a longer appointment please ask when booking your appointment. We do try to run to time but delays can inevitably occur.

In addition, the practice is open from 7.00am on Mondays, and from 6.30pm to 8.00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for pre-bookable appointments. Please contact the surgery to book an appointment for these times.

The surgery participates in the All Island training afternoons which are held on three Thursday afternoons during the year. On these occasions (which will be advertised in the surgery in advance) the surgery will be closed from 1.00pm until 8.30am the next morning (8.00am for telephone general enquiries and 8.15am for telephone appointment booking). Cover will be provided on these afternoons by the NHS 111 number. For medical emergencies please dial 999.

There are three further in-house training afternoons through the year. You can still contact the surgery if you have a medical emergency during these afternoons by telephoning the surgery and pressing '0' on your telephone. Your call will be answered and our Duty GP will respond appropriately. Late afternoon and evening appointments will continue after these additional training afternoons.

Disabled Access

The surgery has excellent access and facilities for patients with disabilities. Wheelchair access to the building is via the ramp and main entrance (where there are automatic sliding doors). All of our corridors and doorways are constructed to allow wheelchair access and all consulting and treatment rooms are on the ground floor. Disabled patients’ toilet facilities are situated by the main entrance. Should you have any other disability needs which are not currently being met please speak to a member of our staff.

CCTV is installed for the purpose of staff, patient and premises security. Access to stored images will be controlled on a restricted basis within the practice.

Use of images, including the provision of images to a third party, will be in accordance with the practice's data protection registration.

CCTV may be used to monitor the movements and activities of staff and visitors whilst on the premises. CCTV images may be used where appropriate as part of staff counselling or disciplinary procedures. External and internal signs are displayed on the premises stating the presence of CCTV. Images from the cameras are recorded on a digital recording unit. Where recordings are retained for the purposes of security of staff, patient and premises, these will be held securely, and access controlled. Recordings which are not required for the purposes of security of staff, patient and premises, will not be retained for longer than is necessary. Our standard retention is no longer than eight weeks.

The data controller is the practice manager who can be contacted during office hours for enquiries on 01983 817200.

Online Appointment Booking and Repeat Prescription ordering

You can now sign up for our online appointment booking and repeat prescription service.  Please pick up a flier at reception to register your interest in signing up.  We will need to see 2 forms of current ID - one must include your picture.  If you don't have photo ID your Birth Certificate will be okay.  The other item must have your current address and be a utility bill, council tax notification or bank statement (not online), and must be dated within the last 3 months.

We are in the process of obtaining as many patient email addresses as possible so that we can start to use this to communicate better with patients.  Going forwards, with your permission we would like to be able to send out test results, annual review letters, appointment reminders etc via your email address.    We are also considering the possibility of email consultations where you can ask questions of the Doctors or Nurses, and where you do not neccessarily need to attend the Surgery.  If you have signed up for our online services we will already have your email address on record.  More information to come on this shortly.

The Surgery now uses Docmail to process some correspondence to patients.  Docmail do not do anything with patient information other than print off and post correspondence for us.  No patient data is held by the company or passed to anyone else, and all Information and Data Protection regulations are upheld.  All patients' rights are fully protected.
