Accessing your practice
The surgery has great access. It has good facilities for patients. These patients have disabilities. The building has wheelchair access. You can get in via the ramp and main entrance. The entrance has automatic sliding doors. All our corridors and doorways are wheelchair accessible. All consulting and treatment rooms are on the ground floor. The toilet facilities for disabled patients are near the main entrance. If you have any other disability needs that our staff are not currently meeting, please speak to a member of our staff.
Surgery Times
The surgery is open Monday to Friday 8.15am to 6.30pm.
Appointments are routine. They are at 10-minute intervals. You can book them up to eight weeks in advance. If you need a longer appointment, please ask when booking. We do try to run to time but delays can occur.
Also, the practice is open from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. These are for pre-booked appointments. Please contact the surgery. Book an appointment for these times. We also run specialist nurse clinics from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Tuesday. Please ask for these details when you contact the surgery.
The surgery is part of All Island training. It takes place in the afternoons. Three Thursday afternoons each year hold them. We will advertise these occasions in advance. The surgery will close from 1.00pm until 8.30am the next morning. It will open at 8.00am for telephone enquiries and at 8.15am for appointment booking. The NHS 111 number will cover these afternoons. For medical emergencies please dial 999.
There are three more training afternoons at our office this year. You can still call the surgery. Do it if you have a medical emergency in the afternoons. phone the surgery and press ‘0’ on your telephone. We will answer your call, and our Duty GP will respond . Appointments will continue late afternoon and evening. This will happen after the extra training.
Out of Hours and Emergencies
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
Saturday Service
This is a two-year pilot scheme. In it, GP surgeries will work together. They will offer GP and Nurse appointments. They will also offer some specialist appointments. They will be on weekday evenings and at the weekends.
We deliver this service by sharing resources across the island. This means:
– the appointment may be a telephone consultation
– the appointment may be with clinicians you don’t know
– you may need to travel further, as not every surgery will open every day
– You will need to share your patient record.
Emergency Dental Treatment – How To Get Help
If you have an Island dentist, you should contact their office. They will give you details of your dentist’s plans for emergency cover. Or, you can call the Dental Helpline on 0845 050 8345.
If you do not have a dentist on the Island, and you need help to find one, call the Dental Helpline at the number above.
